About

I grew up in country New South Wales, surrounded by the Murray River, Lake Hume and the high country, before I moved to London for what was meant to be a couple of years... and stayed for fifteen. It's in Europe where I learned to see colour differently, where the light is softer and the tones quieter. It seems their interiors come in more subtle shades too.

Coming back to Sydney with that eye, into the bright light of Australia and our love of a a more vibrant palette, I've been drawn to brighter colours, but my love of English decor and dramatic colour in American Hamptons style interiors remains.

For 3 years I was editor of Stylish Life Magazine and The Stylish Life Project, working alongside two fabulous interior designers, and many more talented designers, chefs, retailers and creatives. Years of working alongside them, writing and filming about interiors, art and entertaining, taught me to trust my eye. It also taught me the difference between a room that's been decorated and a room that's ready to become your home. Often, it's the artworks that make that difference.

I've been painting literally for decades. From large scale florals in the blues and greens I love, and a heavy dose of pink, I continue to paint the flowers that I love, but have also gravitated to the beautiful landscape and seascapes that we're surrounded by in Sydney (and around Australia).

The landscapes mostly come from Sydney's Northern Beaches. I live on the North Shore and the Northern Beaches are the stretch I regularly return to with my family and Benji, our pup… for a morning, a weekend, a particular headland that fills my camera roll. I've been painting long enough that I'm not painting a moment any more. I'm painting the shape of the place I know so well.

I also love to paint when I travel, it's sometimes the only time that life stands still long enough to take the time. The South of France, the English hillsides are my favourite. The works are a reminder of beautiful holidays and joyous times with family and friends, and I love that.

I work with acrylics on canvas in blues and greens that match the style of homes I love. My work isn't for blank walls. It's for the rooms you've built, the homes you love, the moments you want to mark. I want the painting you buy from me to be the one you can't imagine the wall without, the one you love a little more each year.

I live on Sydney's North Shore with my family and cavoodle, Benji. My studio is the room with the best afternoon light, and that's where most of my hours go.
